Steve Jobs didn't let his kids use iPads.
The man who invented the thing knew exactly what it would do to developing brains.
But somehow, we decided the best way to prepare kids for the future was to put iPads in every classroom and throw away the PCs.
Think about what we lost in that trade.
PCs made kids creators. You had to learn how things worked. You had to solve problems. You had to build.
iPads made kids consumers. Swipe, tap, watch. Everything is designed to be effortless.
We told ourselves we were "modernizing education." Really, we just made it easier for kids to never learn how to think.
Jobs knew this. That's why his kids had limits. That's why he said technology should amplify human intelligence, not replace it.
When I put Roblox Studio in front of a kid, they don't just consume. They create. They problem-solve. They think.
Same screen. Completely different relationship with technology.
